Hypnosis is a trance-like, relaxing state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Around 95% of what we do every day is subconscious. Hypnosis allows direct access to the subconscious mind, where our learned behaviour pattern-making systems reside. Your mind is more receptive to suggestions at this state.

What can you expect in a hypnosis session?

The initial intake session takes approximately 90 minutes, which includes 30 minutes intake and 60 minutes hypnosis practices to help you feel comfortable in hypnosis.

A regular hypnosis session takes approximately 60 minutes, including a check-in at the beginning, 40-50 minutes of hypnosis, and a discussion at the end of the session.

Hypnosis practices begin by guiding you into a state of relaxation. This involves deep breathing exercises and hypnotic induction to help you become calm and focused into a trance state. The level of trance will then be deepen with deepening techniques. While in this state of heightened suggestibility, positive suggestions, guided imagery with scripts will be provided. They are tailored to address specific issues or concerns. At the end of the session, you will be guided out of the hypnotic state, returning back to full alertness and awareness. We will discuss your experience and any insights or emotions that came up during the session.

  • Yes, if they are willing to. The depth and ease of hypnosis can vary from person to person. The ability to enter a hypnotic state is often related to an individual's willingness, receptivity, and ability to relax their mind and body. People who have experience with meditation may find it easier to go into trance. With each hypnosis session, you will be able to go into hypnosis easier and deeper.

  • No, hypnosis is not mind control. While in a hypnotic state, you retain free will and control over your actions. You will be able to communicate with me during hypnosis and remember the conversation.

  • It is a state of heightened focus and deep relaxation. There are many times that people enter a natural state of trance. Driving, watching TV, listening to music, working on a favorite hobby or activity in the "flow" state. These are all "altered states of consciousness," and all are various levels of trance.

    Trance states can vary in depth and intensity. Some are very light and can be part of everyday activities like daydreaming, while others can be much deeper and achieved intentionally through meditation or hypnosis.

  • Hypnosis can be conducted effectively via Zoom, as well as an in-person session.

    Ensure you are in a quiet, comfortable, and distraction-free environment where you won't be interrupted.

    Before the session, test your internet connection, camera, and microphone to ensure they are working correctly. Consider using headphones for better audio quality.

  • It’s a good idea to avoid alcohol, caffeine or recreational drugs, and get plenty of rest before the session.

    Set an intention for your session. What do you want to heal? What are you ready to release? What are you ready to change? We will discuss them at the beginning of the session.

  • Journal about your session and make notes of how you felt. Which hypnotic suggestions resonate with you? What changes do you want to make?

    Meditate and practice self-hypnosis to continue achieving peace and calmness within your body, mind and soul. Practice visualization to envision the change and the future you would like to achieve.

  • The number of sessions needed can vary significantly from person to person. I would recommend at least 3-5 sessions biweekly or monthly to address one issue or subconscious block, and continue until achieving your specific goals and progress. We will discuss it further during the intake session.
