The experience of Reiki varies between people. Some people may experience a tingling sensation, and some may experience subtle muscle pulsing which indicates a change in their energy and blood flow. People often experience warmth from the practitioner’s hands, but some may describe a cooling effect from reiki. Some people fall into a deep, sleeplike meditative state, while for other people, the first session in particular they may not experience much, although they feel more relaxed afterward. The most common experience is a release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation.

The whole Reiki session takes around 60 minutes, including an intake process at the beginning, 40 minutes of Reiki healing, and a discussion at the end of the session.

What types of channeled messages will I receive in a session?

During the reiki session, I would be able to connect with the universal life force energy, your higher self, spirit guides and ancestors and be an open channel for any messages and guidance.

I will be able to scan your energy fields to look for any imbalances or stuck energy in your body. Identify what emotions or memories are trapped in different parts of your body and guidance from your guides on how to release those subconscious blockages.

Sometimes, people’s passed away loved ones will allow themselves to be known during a session as one of their guides and provide protection.

Messages are different each session depends on what you need in that moment.

What do I need to prepare before a Reiki session?

Wear comfortable clothing so that you are able to lie down comfortably.

Avoid eating a heavy meal beforehand, as you don’t want all of your body’s energy to be directed toward digesting.

Stay hydrated. It’s a good idea to avoid alcohol, caffeine or recreational drugs before the session.

Be open and have no expectation. Trust that you will receive exactly what you need in that moment.

Set an intention for your session. What do you want to heal? What are you ready to release? What are you ready to manifest? We will discuss them at the beginning of the session.

What should I do after a Reiki session?

Notice any changes in your physical body. How do you feel? Do you experience any release of tension in your body? How does your breath flow?

Continue staying hydrated to allow your body to heal and flush out any toxins in your system.

Journal about your session and make notes of how you felt. What channeled messages resonate with you? What changes do you want to make?

Meditate to continue achieving peace and calmness within your body, mind and soul. Practice visualization to envision the change and the future you would like to achieve.

Get some good rest. During sleep, your body undergoes a number of changes that enable healing and restoration.

How frequent should I receive Reiki healing?

There is no right or wrong. It is very intuitive and up to each individuals. I would recommend at least 3-5 sessions biweekly or monthly to experience lasting healing benefits. Some may feel an instant energy shift with one session. For those who are going through a challenging time, they may feel called to receive Reiki weekly.

Receiving regular Reiki treatments is a great form of self-care and helps you to achieve inner peace and maintain holistic balance.
